A combined investigation team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigated PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case for over two and a half hours.
The former first lady appeared before the probe team at the NAB’s Rawalpindi office. Bushra Bibi has been accused of keeping a pendant, chain, earrings, two rings and a bracelet from the Toshakhana during her husband’s tenure as the prime minister.
She is also accused of keeping gold and diamond necklace, bracelet, ring, earrings and a bracelet watch from the Toshakhana.
The NAB has alleged that Bushra Bibi did not submit the gifts to the Toshakhana to have their value estimated transparently.
On August 29, the accountability court of Islamabad had accepted Bushra Bibi’s pre-arrest bail application in the Toshakhana case till September 12.
The hearing was held by duty judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain owing to accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir being on leave.
Bushra Bibi’s bail was accepted in exchange for surety bonds with Rs500,000.
