Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Alia Hamza has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking permission for a peaceful rally on February 8.
“Our right to hold a peaceful gathering should be granted,” the petition states.
Hamza’s lawyer argued that the Constitution of Pakistan grants all political parties the right to hold public gatherings.
Speaking on the matter, Alia Hamza asserted that every PTI worker supports peaceful protests.
“Our struggle is not for chaos but for justice,” she stated, adding that it has been a year since the people’s mandate was stolen and that those responsible are still trying to cover up the theft.
