Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman confirmed on Thursday that his party will observe February 8 as the "black day".
Addresssing a press conference in Lahore, Rehman said: "Many of the people sitting in the parliament due to the Form-47. The government came into power through rigging. The opposition is also not interested in running the campaign on the basis of Form-45."
"We will announce a big march following the black day," he said.
He lamented the ballooning inflation, saying, "Ramazan is around the corner but the inflation is increasing continuously."
"The prime minister is making claims of witnessing the drop in inflation at the record level," said Rehman.
The JI chief stated, "I don't know on the basis of which inflation statistics the masses are being befooled."
He said, "There is a need to tighten the noose around the sugar mafia. The Punjab government has deceived the farmers."
"The cards that are being issued to the farmers are basically the loans card."
