The federal government has abolished 11,877 vacant posts across various ministries and divisions in a significant move to streamline governance, ranging from Grade 1 to 22, as part of its right-sizing initiative.
According to details provided by the Establishment Division to parliament, 11,764 posts from Grade 1 to 18 have been abolished, while 113 posts from Grade 19 to 22 have also been removed.
