Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has issued the latest rates for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters, which will no longer be installed free of charge.
According to the new pricing structure, the cost of a single-phase AMI meter with a 20-meter cable is set at Rs35,000. Consumers opting for a single-phase connection with a 40-meter cable will have to pay PKR 38,000.
For three-phase connections, an AMI meter with a 20-meter cable will cost PKR 65,000, while a three-phase meter with a 40-meter cable will be priced at PKR 110,000.
IESCO has already replaced over 550,000 old meters with AMI meters at no cost to consumers, ensuring they benefit from advanced technology. However, new connections will now require consumers to pay for AMI meters.
The installation of AMI meters will take place in Rawalpindi city, Cantt, and Taxila divisions, IESCO confirmed.
