WhatsApp is set to introduce a user-friendly solution for those managing multiple accounts.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's CEO, has announced an upcoming feature that will enable Android users to seamlessly switch between two distinct WhatsApp accounts on a single device.
This new feature eliminates the need for carrying an extra device or the inconvenience of repeated logins.
This feature is designed to streamline the management of conversations across different WhatsApp accounts, making it particularly convenient for users juggling both work and personal profiles. It's expected to roll out in the next few weeks.
Users should note that setting up a second WhatsApp account will still require a separate phone number and SIM card (or a device supporting multi-SIM or eSIM).
Initially, a one-time passcode will be sent via SMS to the second account, which can be received on the second device or SIM card.
Following this verification, the WhatsApp app will work seamlessly for both accounts without the need for the second device or SIM card, according to WhatsApp spokesperson Ellie Heatrick.
