The Accountability Court Karachi has issued bailable arrest warrants for 10 accused, including Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz, Ali Riaz, and Zain Malik, in connection with the illegal allotment of land to Bahria Town.
During the hearing, several suspects, including Manzoor Qadir Kaka, Javed Hanif, and Ziauddin, Agha Maqsood, appeared before the court. However, the investigation officer informed the court that 10 accused failed to comply with the summons, while Malik Riaz remains an absconder in two Rawalpindi references.
Legal proceedings and bail updates
According to Advocate Shaukat Hayat, four accused, including Nishat, Shoaib, and Mustafiz, have already obtained bail. Additionally, two accused have secured a restraining order from the Sindh High Court.
Meanwhile, Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi identified himself as the plaintiff in the case and requested copies of the reference. However, the defense lawyers objected, arguing that his name was not included in the case and that he should approach the NAB chairman.
The court ultimately ordered the provision of copies to the accused and adjourned the hearing until April 15.
Following the hearing, a heated exchange took place between Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi and the investigation officer, adding further tension to the high-profile case.
