Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport witnessed a major drug bust as the Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics.
During routine security checks, ASF officials recovered 980 grams of ice heroin from the luggage of a passenger bound for Doha.
The accused, identified as Muhammad Wali, had skillfully concealed the contraband inside his bag. However, ASF’s vigilant officers detected the illicit substances, which are estimated to have a street value exceeding Rs 10 million.
Following the seizure, the suspect and the recovered drugs were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further legal proceedings. Authorities have intensified surveillance at the airport to curb smuggling activities and ensure passenger safety.
