The recent snowfall has turned the weather pleasant across Azad Kashmir and other regions. However, due to heavy snowfall, schools have been closed, and an emergency alert has been issued.
Authorities have directed all government employees to remain on duty to handle the situation.
In Poonch district, like the rest of the state, a thick blanket of snow covers the region. Continuous rain and snowfall over the past three days have caused flooding in several areas, bringing daily life to a standstill.
The heavy snowfall has severely disrupted communication networks, cutting off upper areas from urban centers. Many roads remain blocked, further isolating the affected regions.
The cities of Poonch district are also covered in white after an entire night of snowfall. Meanwhile, upper areas of Poonch have been hit by a snowstorm, leading to an intense cold wave. Popular tourist destinations, including Toli Peer, Lasdana, Bilal Potha, Shaheed Gali, Banjosa, Behrain, Pachiot, and Mate Kot, are now buried under snow.
