With the start of Ramadan, sugar prices in Islamabad have begun to rise, recording an increase of up to Rs15 per kg so far.
According to market sources, before Ramadan, sugar was being sold at Rs. 160 per kg. However, due to increased demand, prices have surged, and sugar is now being sold for Rs. 170 to Rs. 175 per kg in most areas of the city.
In the wholesale market, the price of sugar has reached Rs. 164 per kg, while a 50 kg sugar bag is now being sold for Rs. 8,200.
