The Joint Investigation Team (JIT), led by the Inspector General of Police in Islamabad, had summoned 10 members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) social media team over their involvement in spreading anti-Pakistan content and baseless allegations online.
Sources revealed that the JIT had been investigating the matter under the leadership of the Inspector General, as part of efforts to address the harmful rhetoric circulating on social media.
The team’s purpose had been to identify the perpetrators in accordance with the law and take necessary legal action against them.
Among those summoned were Asif Rashid, Mohammad Arshad, Sabghat Ullah Wark, Azhar Mashwani, Noman Afzal, Jabran Ilyas, and Salman Rizvi Zaidi. Additionally, Zulfi Bukhari, Musa Virk and Ali Hasnain Malik had also been issued notices.
The notices stated that all of these individuals had been instructed to appear before the JIT on March 7, 2025 at 12 PM.
In the notices, they had been clearly told to clarify their stance on the matter.
