Apple is gearing up for its most significant UI redesign in years with iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16.
The changes will introduce a modernized aesthetic, aligning Apple’s ecosystem while keeping macOS and iPadOS distinct.
The design refresh, expected to be announced at WWDC 2025 in June, is being developed under the codenames:
- “Luck” – iOS & iPadOS 19
- “Cheer” – macOS 16
Key changes in the redesign:
- New Icons & Menus – A more streamlined and intuitive interface
- Revamped Windows & System Buttons – Improved usability
- visionOS-Inspired UI – A futuristic, immersive feel
- Better Cross-Device Integration – Smoother transitions between iPhone, iPad, and Mac
Apple intelligence & Siri delays
Despite the design overhaul, Apple still faces challenges with Apple Intelligence and Siri’s delayed AI upgrade. Originally expected in iOS 18.4, the update is now uncertain, raising questions about whether it will be part of iOS 19 or face further delays.
Apple’s latest update comes as the company looks to regain momentum after a slowdown in sales. While 2021 saw record-breaking growth, recent years have shown declining numbers, making this redesign a crucial step in reigniting consumer interest.
