The director general of Military Operations provided a detailed briefing to the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (NSC) on Tuesday, chaired by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, shedding light on recent terrorist incidents, foreign involvement, and counter-terrorism operations.
The committee was informed that India’s intelligence agency RAW and other anti-national elements are actively fueling unrest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The briefing revealed that terrorist outfits such as the Taliban are receiving support from RAW and Afghanistan, with foreign-made weapons being used in attacks.
Officials highlighted that evidence of Afghan soil being used for terrorist activities has been presented multiple times, with the Jaffar Express attack being orchestrated from Afghanistan. It was also disclosed that several Afghan nationals were involved in the attack on Bannu Cantt.
The security briefing revealed a notable increase in terrorist activities ahead of Ramadan, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The committee was presented with screened evidence and slides, showcasing key intelligence findings, counter-terrorism actions, and sacrifices made by security forces.

"For sustainable development, all elements of national power must work in harmony. This is a battle for our survival and that of future generations," he stated.
In a declaration issued after the meeting, the committee strongly condemned recent acts of terrorism and expressed deep solidarity with the affected families. The meeting reiterated full support for Pakistan's armed forces, law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies, emphasizing that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with them in the war against terrorism.
"The committee acknowledged the sacrifices of security personnel for the defence of the country," the statement mentioned, adding that those who conspire with enemy forces will not succeed in their nefarious objectives.
