The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a miscellaneous petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), requesting an early hearing of his sentence suspension plea in the £190 million case.
The petition was submitted through Barrister Salman Safdar.
According to the plea, the sentence suspension case was initially scheduled for a hearing on March 24. However, the main defense lawyer was occupied with a murder case in the Supreme Court, leading to a delay. Due to a shortened cause list, the court postponed the hearing until after Eid.
The petition urges the court to schedule the sentence suspension plea along with the main appeal before Eid. The federal government and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman have also been made respondents in the case.
