The deadlock continues between the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and the government as negotiations over the ongoing sit-in at Lakpas in Mastung failed to yield any progress.
A government delegation, including Zahoor Buledi, Noor Ahmad Bangalzai, and other officials, met with BNP chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal on Tuesday to address the party's demands but failed to reach a resolution.
After extensive discussions, the delegation requested two days to consult with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and later take the matter to Islamabad for talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Speaking to the media, government representatives assured that efforts were underway to find a peaceful solution to the crisis. "The issue will be resolved soon. The government is seriously seeking a peaceful solution," the representatives said, rejecting the reports of activist Dr. Mahrang Baloch's release.
Meanwhile, Sardar Akhtar Mengal expressed disappointment over the lack of progress, stating that the delegation had no authority to make decisions and would merely escalate discussions further.
