The public offices in Peshawar failed to resume normal operations, despite the conclusion of Eid holidays.
According to details, many government employees were seen exchanging Eid greetings with one another, while several offices remained locked, with staff absent.
The public sector in the city had been closed for five days due to a combination of two weekly holidays and three days off for Eid.
However, even after the end of the break, the offices remained far from functional.
A few employees who did arrive at work spent their time greeting each other in celebration of the festival, rather than engaging in official duties.
"Although the holidays are over, the offices are still not fully operational," said Malik Naveed, Chairman of the Workers Union. "Many of the offices are still empty, and those who did show up are not working."
Further, numerous senior officers were also absent from their offices, leaving them locked for the day.
"Attendance was low today, and many officers were missing from their respective offices," stated Syed Waqar Hassan, General Secretary of the Workers Union.
