President Asif Ali Zardari's personal physician and close aide from Karachi, Dr Asim Hussain said on Friday that President Zardari had recovered and had been discharged from hospital.
Dr Hussain confirmed that the President had tested negative for COVID-19 before his release from the medical facility.
He stated, “President Zardari has been discharged from hospital after testing negative for COVID-19.”
Hussain added, “Doctors have recommended further physiotherapy for President Zardari.”

Earlier, speaking to the media on Saturday, Dr Asim provided a comprehensive update on President Zardari's condition and the timeline of events leading to his hospital admission.
He said President Zardari travelled to Nawabshah from Islamabad last Saturday, and his health had deteriorated during Eid prayers in Nawabshah.
It prompted an urgent medical response, but he was better, and there was no need to worry, he added.
