Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam said on Saturday that his team conceded more runs in the powerplay, which cost the match against Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Expressing his thoughts after Zalmi were drubbed at the hands of the Gladiators, Azam said, “The behaviour of the pitch changed and it went slow in the second innings.”
“We could not stitch any partnership other than the one between Saim Ayub and Hussain Talat,” he said.
He lavished his praise on Saim Ayub for notching a fifty on his comeback to competitive cricket. “Saim Ayub has batted brilliantly," he said.
"It is heartening to see Saim Ayub in form,” Azam added.
