A soldier of the Pakistan army embraced martyrdom while four terrorists were killed when the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Maddi, Dera Ismail Khan District, on reported presence of Khwarij, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations on Thursday.
According to ISPR, during the conduct of the operation, the troops engaged the Khwarij location effectively. As a result, four Khwarij were killed.
"However, during intense fire exchange, one brave son of soil, Sepoy Basit Siddique (age: 23 years, resident of District Attock), having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat," the statement added.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed Khwarij, who, according to ISPR, remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
The statement further said that a sanitisation operation was conducted to eliminate any other Khwarij found in the area. The security forces of Pakistan remained determined to eradicate terrorism from the country. "Such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," ISPR stated.
