Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to deal a decisive blow to terrorists, ensuring they never threaten Pakistan again.
Chairing a high-level meeting on the law and order situation in Islamabad, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
He said that Pakistan’s enemies are unnerved by the nation’s recent economic progress and stressed that the fight against terrorism will continue until complete peace is restored.
Commending security forces, Shehbaz Sharif praised the bravery and sacrifices of officers and soldiers who confront terrorists round the clock. He also lauded provincial governments and state institutions for their coordinated and robust counter-terror efforts.
Prime Minister assured that the federal government will fully support all provinces in strengthening their capacity to combat terrorism and extremism. He noted that the collaborative narrative between the federation and provinces against terrorism is a positive sign.
Calling for national unity, he urged all stakeholders to set aside differences and join forces to eliminate the threat once and for all.
Shehbaz Sharif also instructed authorities to intensify efforts against smuggling and tighten the noose around human trafficking networks, ensuring that those involved are held accountable.
He emphasized the urgent need to complete Safe City projects in major urban centres to bolster security.
During the briefing, it was revealed that the National and Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center has been established under NACTA. Additionally, a new forensic science agency is operational in Islamabad, while the existing facility in Punjab is being further upgraded.
