The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to formulate a comprehensive party-level strategy for potential talks with the establishment, signalling a more serious and structured approach within the party to ending the prevailing political deadlock in the country.
Senior PTI leader and Senator Shibli Faraz confirmed that a consultative meeting within the party will be held soon to deliberate on the possible dialogue process. Speaking to senior journalists, he emphasised that negotiations are a sensitive and critical matter, requiring careful consideration and constitutional guidance.
“We will find a way forward through consultation. The strategy must be based on the principles of the Constitution and rule of law,” said Faraz.
He added that the PTI founder is open to all kinds of talks in the interest of national stability, and that the party is keen on adopting a path that would help defuse political tensions. “The PTI founder's doors are open for talks, but only for the sake of the country,” he said.
Faraz further stated that the party does not intend to debate the matter of negotiations publicly moving forward. “This issue will not be discussed at the public level again. It’s time we handle it with the seriousness it deserves,” he noted.
While acknowledging that the ongoing political conflict has pushed the country to the edge, the PTI leader remarked, “Until a meaningful way is found, Pakistan’s problems will continue. The country cannot afford the current situation any longer.”
He reiterated PTI’s commitment to resolving the crisis through dialogue and consensus, adding that the upcoming party meeting will help determine a clear strategy moving ahead.
