Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman and senior politician Muhammad Ali Durrani exchanged views on the country’s political situation on Tuesday.
Durrani called on Rehman in Islamabad. On this occasion, Durrani condoled the death of Fazl’s mother-in-law.
The two leaders also underscored other matters, including the general elections in the country.
– Commends Islamic scholars’ role –
Few weeks back, Fazlur Rehman commended on Tuesday the role of the Islamic scholars in the running government affairs.
Addressing the workers’ convention in Multan, Rehman said: “The JUI-F has always struggled for the masses’ rights. The JUI-F’s Million March had proved the party to be one of the country’s biggest political forces.”
“We did not create obstacles for the power for which we were kept out of parliament,” Rehman rued.
He made it clear that his party will stage protests if there is rigging in the upcoming elections. “We are not going to give away our rights if they are snatched,” he added.
Few days back, Rehman said on Saturday that it will be challenging to uplift the country’s economy.

Earlier this month, Rehman said on Saturday that it will be challenging to uplift the country’s economy.
Addressing an event in Peshawar, Rehman said, ‘’It would not be a matter of joy to see my opponents in jail while I am freed. I am of the view that every politician should be out of jail.’’
‘’One of the ambassadors said that arresting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief is concerning. I had said, What about sending the other leader who remained the country’s premier three times to jail? Rehman added.
