Rahul Bhatt, son of veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and known for his appearance on Bigg Boss 4, has made headlines again—this time for his explosive remarks about his half-sister, actress Alia Bhatt.
Rahul Bhatt discussed his relationship with Alia in a recent interview with Hindi Rush, delivering a mix of compliments and scathing opinions that surprised the public.
When asked about his bond with Alia, Rahul said he maintains positive relations with her, but their connection has never been deep. He shared:
“She is a mother now and very successful. I respect her for taking care of my other stepsister, Shaheen. But I don’t expect her to call or meet me. We never had that bond.”
Despite acknowledging her success and personal life, Rahul’s tone shifted dramatically when the topic turned to Alia’s standing in the Bhatt family legacy.
Rahul didn't hold back when asked who truly carries forward the Bhatt family's legacy. He praised his real sister, Pooja Bhatt, calling her the most talented among all siblings and his inspiration in acting.
But it was his blunt comparison to Alia that shocked many:
“In my opinion, she’s not even half of what my real sister is. Not in talent, not in looks —she’s nothing in front of Pooja. Yeh mera personal opinion hai.”
Rahul added that Pooja Bhatt was the true flagbearer of their family's creative legacy and someone he still looks up to.
Rahul’s statements have triggered a strong reaction on social media. While some agreed that Pooja Bhatt was a powerful performer of her time, many called out Rahul for unnecessarily pulling down Alia, who is one of the most celebrated actresses in India today.
Neither Alia Bhatt nor anyone from the Bhatt family has responded to Rahul’s remarks yet. The comments, however, have sparked curiosity about the personal dynamics within one of Bollywood’s most famous families.
