Turkish digital influencer Türkan Atay, known for her Urdu content and strong connection to Pakistan, has taken to social media to call out designer Maria B over an alleged unpaid PR package deal.
The controversy erupted after Turkan publicly accused Maria B and her team of fraud and unprofessional behaviour, sparking a debate across social platforms.
Türkan, who has over 853K followers on Instagram, claimed that Maria B not only failed to pay the agreed amount for a PR campaign but also attempted to cover up the issue with lies.

“Maria and her team are so fraud. She thinks she can buy people with money. That may work on others, not me. I don’t want your payment—I want a public apology.”
She added that Maria B falsely accused her of demanding extra payment and blocking her from all platforms.

“You are two-faced. You lied about meetings, used causes like Palestine for brand image, and mistreated your house help during COVID. I will expose everything. Apologize or face court.”
Türkan also mocked the designer’s social stature, saying, “You can’t play games with me. Do fraud with your actors, not me.”
Maria B subsequently revealed her perspective. The designer claimed that Türkan had approached them for a collaboration and that her team had indeed paid her hundreds of dollars along with sending her designer outfits.

“One of my junior PR girls made a mistake, but I can’t throw her under the bus. We didn’t refuse payment—we’ve just been delayed. Türkan's aggressive behaviour made the situation worse.”
Maria also accused Türkan of creating unnecessary social media drama and pressuring the brand with threats of further defamation.
The dispute has sparked mixed reactions across social media. Many fans backed her for speaking up against what they see as a culture of influencer exploitation. While some digital creators and brand representatives defended Maria, calling Türkan’s tone “too harsh” and “unprofessional.”
