The Sindh government has approved grace marks for Class 11 students appearing in the 2024 annual intermediate examinations. A formal notification has been issued to all education boards concerned, including the Karachi Board of Intermediate Education.
According to the Sindh Department of Universities and Boards's notification, students of Inter Year 1 (Class 11) in pre-medical and pre-engineering faculties will be awarded 15 to 20% additional marks in their upcoming exams.
The move follows the approval granted by the Sindh provincial cabinet in a meeting held on April 15, where officials discussed measures to support students’ academic performance amid ongoing educational reforms. According to the decision, students will receive 20% marks in Chemistry and 15% in both Physics and Mathematics.
The Universities and Boards Department has formally informed the relevant examination boards and directed them to implement the grace marks policy in the Inter Year 1 Annual Examinations 2024, which are scheduled to begin soon.
