Lahore Qalandars outclassed Multan Sultans by five wickets in the 16th match of the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.
The Qalandars successfully chased a target of 186 runs, set by the Sultans, within 19 overs at the cost of five wickets. Daryl Mitchell clinched the Player of the Match award for his standout display.
In the high-stakes encounter played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to field. Multan Sultans opened the batting and posted a competitive total of 185 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Captain Muhammad Rizwan played a commanding innings of 76 runs for the Sultans, while Kamran Ghulam remained unbeaten with 52 runs to his name.
Among the Lahore Qalandars’ bowlers, Tom Curran, Haris Rauf and Daryl Mitchell each claimed one wicket.
In reply, the Qalandars reached the target with a solid batting display. Daryl Mitchell scored 64 runs for Lahore, Sikandar Raza remained not out with 40 runs, and Abdullah Shafique added 34 runs to the tally.
For Multan Sultans, Ubaid Shah dismissed two players during his spell.
