In a bid to promote economic recovery, the caretaker government, security forces, and military leadership initiated a nationwide operation against hoarders starting in September.
The results of this operation have been nothing short of remarkable, with significant quantities of essential commodities recovered and economic stability becoming a distinct possibility.
According to data released from October 22 to October 29, a staggering 83.59 metric tons of fertilizer, 1.13 metric tons of flour, and 2.267 metric tons of sugar were successfully confiscated from hoarders across the country.
Punjab, one of the country's most agriculturally productive regions, played a pivotal role in these efforts, contributing by exporting 74.52 metric tons of fertilizer.
However, the true magnitude of the success was exemplified in Sindh, where the operation yielded an astonishing 9,072 metric tons of fertilizer, 1,133 metric tons of flour, and 2,267 metric tons of sugar.
This nationwide crackdown against hoarders has seen more than 62 operations executed successfully since its launch on September 1.
The operations have been a collective effort of multiple relevant agencies.
The crackdown on hoarders is seen as an essential step to ensure the availability of vital commodities at affordable prices and to curb inflation.
