Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his reservations over the deportation of the Afghan refugees from the country on Thursday.
In a video message, the JUI-F chief said, ‘’I stand against the way the Afghan refugees are being asked to leave Pakistan. Nowadays, the uproar has caused that the Afghan refugees are living in the country illegally.’’
"Why were the Afghan refugees facilitated in Pakistan if they were illegal? The 40-year hospitality has been ended by asking the Afghans to leave the country,’’ Rehman said.
Rehmain maintained: “Even during Pervez Musharraf’s regime, we opposed the matter pertaining to the alliance with the United States. What had the US obtained by launching the attack on Afghanistan? The US, in the end, had left Afghanistan in frustration.''
The JUI-F chief added, “This matter would have been resolved through negotiations”.
JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman commended on Tuesday the role of the Islamic scholars in the running government affairs.
Addressing the workers’ convention in Multan, Rehman said: “The JUI-F has always struggled for the masses’ rights. The JUI-F’s Million March had proved the party to be one of the country’s biggest political forces.”
“We did not create obstacles for the power for which we were kept out of parliament,” Rehman rued.
He made it clear that his party will stage protests if there is rigging in the upcoming elections. “We are not going to give away our rights if they are snatched,” he added.
Few days back, Rehman said on Saturday that it will be challenging to uplift the country’s economy.Fazlur Rehman, Chinese envoy discuss ties
