The Supreme Court of Pakistan has accepted all the appeals in the high treason case for a regular hearing against the death penalty verdict of the court to the former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
The court accepted Pervez Musharraf's appeal for a regular hearing and adjourned the case till November 21.
The apex court has accepted the appeals against the decision to declare the formation of the special court as illegal. While SC has issued notices to all the parties including the Ministry of Interior and the Federation
The court registrar's office directed to put numbers on all appeals.
The CJP remarked that if any of the heirs of Pervez Musharraf wanted to represent him, he could reprint before the court.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) heard the appeal against the execution of former president Pervez Musharraf and other cases related to high treason on Friday (today).
A divide apex court also heard three different appeals against the decision of the Lahore High Court (LHC) declaring the constitution of the special court unconstitutional.
The hearing of the case of putting Pervez Musharraf's name in the ECL has also been scheduled today along with the other cases. Notices were issued to all parties and lawyers by the Registrar's Office.
It is pertinent to note that all the cases, including the appeal against the annulment of the sentence of former President and Chief of Army Staff Pervez Musharraf, have been scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court, nine months after his death.
Former president Pervez Musharraf breathed his last on February 5 this year in Dubai.
Case against former president, military ruler
Pervez Musharraf was sentenced to death in his absence by a special court in December 2019 in the high treason case, but later the Lahore High Court (LHC) declared the creation of the special court unconstitutional.
Pakistan Bar Council, Sindh Bar Council and Advocate Tawfiq Asif have filed appeals against this decision of Lahore High Court.
