Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter Khadija Shah had been ordered to be held in custody for a period of 30 days under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) 3 by the Lahore Deputy Commissioner.
The decision, made on November 15, comes after an anti-terrorism court granted Khadija Shah post-arrest bail on Wednesday in the fourth case related to the May 9 riots.
The detention order was issued based on the recommendations of SP Cantt and the District Intelligence Branch.
The notification asserted that Khadija Shah actively participated in violent activities on May 9, and upon reviewing the evidence, there is concern that she may pose a threat to law and order once again. The detention is aimed at preventing any potential disturbance to the law and order situation. Khadija Shah's legal team has expressed their intention to challenge this detention in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
It is worth noting that Khadija Shah had previously been granted bail by the Sessions Court of Lahore on November 8 in connection to a case involving the sharing of a provocative tweet.
