Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) vice chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Saturday that his party had geared up for the upcoming elections.
Addressing a press conference in Multan, Gilani said, ‘’We had held a meeting of the three divisions of South Punjab.’’
He bemoaned that the country was facing severe economic hardships, saying, ‘’Only the PPP can take the country out of all the crises. We always have a track record of steering the country out of crisis.’’
‘’We want to put the country’s economy on track,’’ Gilani said.
He stressed the importance of upholding political stability, saying, ‘’The country will witness economic stability with the existence of political stability.’’
– PPP expresses optimism about winning elections –
PPP senior leader Syed Nasir Hussain Shah expressed optimism on Friday that his party will win the upcoming elections.
Speaking to media in Karachi, Shah said, “The PPP has never had support in elections. We are not afraid of the alliance against us in the upcoming elections. Despite the alliance and opposition we faced, the seats of the PPP are increasing.”
He was of the view that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should also take part in the elections.
