The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released the final list of constituencies completed under the fresh delimitation based on the 7th Population and Housing Census 2023.
As per the new list of constituencies, the general seats in the National Assembly have been decreased from 272 to 266.
The magic figure for becoming the new prime minister/leader of the house in the National Assembly has become 169 instead of 172.
The distribution of NA seats among the provinces is as follows:
Punjab – 141 seats, Sindh – 51 seats, KP – 45 seats, Balochistan – 16 seats, and Islamabad – 3 seats.

On Friday, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja said that the constituencies have been published and elections will be held on time, wherein the list of ROs and DRs will also be published on time.
Political parties have intensified their political campaigns for February 8 general elections.
