In a bizarre incident, four tigers Wednesday killed a citizen in Bahawalpur's Sherbagh Zoo.
The four tigers in the forest tore their body apart. Police and rescue agencies reached the spot. So far, the identity of the dead citizen is still not known.
Zoo administration said that they have launched an investigation and would probe the matter of how the victim reached the leopards’ courtyard.
Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner told media persons that Zoo staff came to know about a human shoe in the tiger’s mouth in the morning.
The staff got suspicious and looked inside and found a dead body there and right now our forensic team is Zoo investigating.
Bahawalpur DC cast doubts on the mental state of the victim. He questioned why any sane person would go inside of a tiger’s cage by himself. “Our staff count is full because the entire area surrounding the Tigers has been secured,” he added.
“From yesterday to today, no missing person report was reported either to the police or at the counter,” he further added.
“If the administration's shortcomings are revealed, action will be taken against it. I have also asked the guard, they are saying that there was no noise even at night,” Bahawalpur DC said.
