Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has conveyed heartfelt Eid Al-Fitr greetings to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the people of Iran.
During a telephone conversation with President Pezeshkian, the prime minister expressed his best wishes, marking the joyous occasion of Eid.
"On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, I extend my sincere congratulations to you, the Supreme Leader, and the people of Iran on the auspicious occasion of Eid," said PM Shehbaz.
He went on to highlight the strong and brotherly ties that had always existed between Pakistan and Iran.
The prime minister emphasised that, as neighbouring countries, Pakistan and Iran could benefit from increasing trade relations.
He also pointed out that both nations needed to work together more closely to address challenges such as border security.
"We must bolster our cooperation in various sectors, including security, to address common challenges effectively," said PM Shehbaz.
He reiterated his resolve to strengthen bilateral relations with Iran.
Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz also extended Eid greetings to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan.
In a separate telephone call with President Tokayev, the two leaders exchanged well-wishes for Eid Al-Fitr.
The two leaders reviewed the progress in their bilateral relations, expressing satisfaction with the positive developments.
They discussed areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, economy, trade, and investment, agreeing on the importance of enhancing cooperation in these fields.
"We look forward to the visit of President Tokayev to Pakistan later this year," said Shehbaz Sharif.
"Such exchanges will strengthen bilateral cooperation between our countries," he added, expressing optimism about further deepening ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
