Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Tuesday that it was up to the government and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold the elections in the country.
Speaking to media in Multan, the former prime minister said, "I do not think the elections are going to be delayed. We [PPP] are geared up for the upcoming polls."
"After completing his visit in Sindh, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is coming to Punjab for the electoral campaign," Gilani added.

"If anybody else is having an issue with former president Asif Ali Zardari, then approach court," stated Gilani.
He made it clear that the security concerns were not a problem for his party.
– PPP will spring its surprise in elections –
PPP senior leader Syed Nasir Shah asserted on Wednesday that his party will spring its surprise in the upcoming elections.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Shah claimed, "We will clinch more than 50 seats from Sindh. We will spring our surprise in Central Punjab in the upcoming elections."
He took a swipe at the political opponents, saying, "Some of the people are escaping the elections by making different excuses."
Asserting that his party was geared up for the elections, Shah made it clear that his party was not against the alliance in Sindh.
Shah stated: "The PPP had always faced obstacles in a bid to form its government in Punjab."
