As the scrutiny of nomination papers continues, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has approved the candidacies of numerous individuals contesting for various constituencies in the upcoming elections.
In Islamabad, the papers of twenty-four candidates vying for three National Assembly constituencies have successfully passed scrutiny. Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, a significant number of candidates, totaling 107, have cleared the scrutiny test for three national and nine provincial constituencies.
Among the notable figures whose nomination papers were accepted in Rawalpindi are Fayyaz-ul-Hasan Chauhan from the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Daniyal Chaudhry representing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Qamarul Islam, Nasir Butt, Mian Aslam from Jamaat-e-Islami, and independent candidate Chaudhry Nisar. Additionally, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq of the Awami Muslim League also saw approval for his nomination papers.
Specifically, in Rawalpindi’s NA-35, NA-55, and NA-56 constituencies, the papers of 30 candidates aiming for the National Assembly seats were cleared. Simultaneously, in the provincial constituencies from PP-10 to PP-17, a total of 90 candidates received validation for their nomination papers.
As the scrutiny process unfolds, candidates from diverse political affiliations and backgrounds secure approval, setting the stage for a competitive electoral race in these constituencies. The validation of these nominations marks a crucial step forward in the preparation for the upcoming elections, bringing a diverse array of candidates into contention for parliamentary seats.
