The Punjab government on Tuesday decided to cancel the artificial rainfall programme due to the absence of the required clouds.
Sources divulged that two aircraft from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were presently stationed at Lahore Airport, awaiting approval from the meteorological department to proceed with the artificial rainfall operation.
It had been disclosed that the Meteorological Department has not granted the necessary authorisation for artificial rainfall, compelling the aircraft to retreat following the previous unsuccessful attempt at inducing artificial precipitation.
