The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed its intention on Wednesday to conduct the inaugural match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Peshawar.
''If the KP government will provide us with Arbab Niaz and Hayatabad Stadiums, then we would like to conduct the first match of PSL in Peshawar,'' the PCB stated.
The ninth edition of the PSL is expected to start on February 17.
– Fringe players gained ‘good experience’ against Australia –
PCB management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf said on Wednesday that the fringe players had gained “good experience” against Australia.
Addressing the press conference flanked by PCB COO Salman Naseer, Ashraf expressed his gratitude to Cricket Australia for giving a warm reception to the Pakistan cricket team. "Cricket Australia was assured to provide training to Pakistan's curators, as it will help in improving the standards of the pitch.”
He made it clear that the PCB had held talks with Cricket Australia on various matters. “The PCB and Cricket Australia will move forward together,” Ashraf said.
Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, PCB COO Salman Naseer said: “Due to the surge in franchise cricket, there exists a clash in the cricket calendar.”
“The PCB and Cricket Australia will extend cooperation in terms of organising the fixture schedule,” he said.
