The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) condemned on Saturday the whopping increase in petroleum prices.
The MQM-P Rabita Committee said, "The caretaker government is mounting pressure on the masses instead of decreasing its own expenses. The exorbitant prices of petroleum products will also make it extremely difficult for the people to get the basic amenities of life."
"People are compelled to commit suicide as they are facing severe economic hardships. It is becoming difficult for salaried people to fulfil their basic needs," said the MQM-P.
The MQM-P rued, "It is becoming difficult to endure the red-hot inflation as the poor segment of society is struggling deeply."
– Transparent polls –
MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Friday urged the caretaker government to ensure transparent polls.
Expressing his thoughts, Mr Siddiqui said, "There is a dire need to hold elections on time as the census in the country has been completed." The assemblies had also completed their terms", he added.
He highlighted the significance of youth, saying, "MQM-P is having a youth leadership in Karachi. We have started our preparations in line with the elections. In some of the constituencies, the party has also decided the expected candidates".
Mr Siddiqui asserted that the MQM-P will not leave any of the "better candidates" in frustration.
