In a heartfelt ceremony organised by the FATA Disabled Welfare Organization, more than fifty individuals affected by landmines, including ten women, were honored for their resilience and strength in Peshawar.
The event, held under the auspices of the FATA Disabled Welfare Organization, saw the participation of Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Hasan Azhar Hayat as the chief guest.
The FATA Disabled Welfare Organization, in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, has been actively involved in the rehabilitation and welfare of victims, providing support to 1043 individuals. Chairman of the FATA Disabled Welfare Organization, Irfanullah Jan, expressed his gratitude towards the Pakistan Army for their unwavering commitment to the rehabilitation of victims.
During the ceremony, Chief Guest Lt Gen Hasan Azhar Hayat distributed financial aid in the form of cash and laptops to the victims, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the military and civil society in addressing the needs of those affected. The initiative, supported by the Pakistan Army, also involves providing financial support and guidance for the procurement of bionic arms and legs for the victims.
Chairman Irfanullah Jan lauded the comprehensive efforts made by the Pakistan Army and emphasized their pivotal role in the successful rehabilitation of landmine victims. "I am grateful to the Pakistan Army that whenever we needed, the Pakistan Army responded and supported us," he stated.
The event was attended by the families of the victims, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and a significant number of military and civil officials. Dr. Anila Durrani, Secretary Special Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commended the joint efforts of the government and the Pakistan Army, saying, "Today's event is proof that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Pakistan Army are working hard for the welfare of the victims of terrorism and mines in the tribal districts."
Expressing gratitude for the support received, Nazimullah from South Waziristan, an affected individual, stated, "I am thankful to Pakistan Army and FATA Disabled Welfare Organization for their cooperation with us." Natasha Suman, Legal Advisor to the FATA Disability Welfare Organization, emphasized that the assistance provided by the Pakistan Army not only benefits the affected individuals but also extends support to their families.
