Newly minted Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has kicked off his first day in office by chairing a full court meeting of the apex court.
The full court session is being attended by all the judges of the Supreme Court. After the meeting, the full court will hear the Practice and Procedure law case.
The full court session is also expected to consider the live streaming of court proceedings as well as pending cases before the apex court.
Upon his arrival at the Supreme Court, Justice Isa was accorded a warm welcome.
In his brief address to the court staff, the CJP said people came to the SC seeking solutions to their problems, adding that they should be taken care of as a host does for a guest.

CJP Isa also told the staff that the doors to justice will remain open to people. He told them to assist litigants as much as possible, after which it’s up to the judges.
“I did not expect to be accorded such a welcome,” he told the staff.
A large number of members of the staff presented him with bouquets of flowers.
Earlier upon his arrival, Justice Isa had refused to be accorded the guard of honor. Sources say the CJP also refused to use a bullet-proof vehicle and decided to keep the one already in his use.
Former CJP Umar Ata Bandial had also refused to use a bullet-proof vehicle.
On Sunday, Justice Qazi Faez Isa was administered the oath as the new chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) at a ceremony at the Presidency in Islamabad.
The senior-most judge of the Supreme Court was administered the oath by President Arif Alvi, as caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar also joined them on stage.
Justice Isa's wife, Sarina, stood besides him as he took the oath as the new CJP.
