PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz made a number of promises to the people of Murree on Monday, including developing the city, providing gas to homes, and building a state-of-the-art hospital.
Addressing a large rally of the PML-N in Murree, after her father Nawaz Sharif spoke to the crowd, she also criticized the current government for not doing enough to help the people of the city after a heavy snowfall earlier this year.
At the outset, she said she had seen such a large gathering in the snow of Murree for the first time, adding that Murree was in her heart too. She also called Murree the host of the entire country.
Maryam said great development was the right of Pakistan, and the country will get it, adding that Nawaz Sharif was known for bringing development to the city.
She further claimed that she had planned to serve Murree day and night, adding that if gas was a problem in the city, her party would deliver gas to all the homes here. "There are homes far and wide here, we will provide health facilities in the mountainous areas," she stressed.
Maryam also said that if her party was elected to power, it would build a state-of-the-art hospital in Murree as well as the best colleges and universities. She also recalled that when hundreds of people were dying in Murree because of accidents, no one came for their help, and Nawaz Sharif stood by them in their sorrows.
She also talked about her party's previous government, saying that when Nawaz was in power before this, businesses were running and the labourer's stove was lit. "During the Nawaz era, a laborer was able to get roti twice a day," she added.
Maryam said a ballot paper on election day decided one's fate and the development of future generations. "If you want development here, you have to vote for the PML-N," she declared.
