In a surprising turn of events, the political landscape of Karachi’s National Assembly constituency NA-242 witnessed a strategic shift as the Awami National Party (ANP) candidate stepped down in support of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Mustafa Kamal.
According to the MQM Pakistan spokesperson, Syed Mustafa Kamal paid a visit to the Awami National Party office located in the Baldia Town area of Karachi, where he held discussions with local party officials.
ANP’s nominee for NA-242, Arshad Sohail, formally withdrew from the electoral race, throwing his support behind Mustafa Kamal's candidacy. Sohail made a heartfelt appeal to the constituents, urging them to cast their votes in favor of Mustafa Kamal come February 8.
Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Kamal emphasized that while there isn't an official electoral alliance between ANP and MQM, their collaboration is strategically significant. He expressed confidence that the ANP-MQM alliance serves as a beacon of peace and progress for urban Sindh, promising a future of development and harmony for the region.
