Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Monday that only his party represents the masses in its real context.
Speaking to the media in Tandlianwala, Mr Bhutto-Zardari urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the date for the general elections.
He took a swipe at the opponents, saying, "Some of the people are mistakenly believing that the PPP has no interest in Punjab politics. We will prove all of such people wrong."
"We will highlight issues in line with inflation, unemployment, security, and the democratic process," maintained Mr Bhutto-Zardari.
– Early polls demand –
Mr Bhutto-Zardari reiterated on Friday his demand from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the election date as soon as possible.
Former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto said he has put up PPP concerns about the level playing field in front of co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari.He was addressing a press conference at Bilawal House Lahore after the PPP central executive committee of the PPP.
Bilawal Bhutto said that PPP was born in Lahore and it was a wrong expression that PPP has cornered to one province only.
He alleged that there was nexus between Saqib Nisar, General Faiz, and one political party in 2018 while in 2013 the elections of Returning Officers (ROs) and General Pasha and the then CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary conspired against PPP.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, “The economic situation of the country was considered.”
He said: “The people need to be given relief on severe inflation and expensive electricity.”
– Elections only solution –
“Elections are the only solution to the political and economic crisis in the country,” Bilawal reiterated.
He said that the PPP demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announce the date of the elections immediately.
Bilawal said that relief should be given to the flood-affected areas by declaring them as calamities.
He also extended sympathizes with minorities affected by the Jardanwala tragedy.
Bilawal Bhutto will talk about alliances or cooperation with other political parties after the announcement of the elections.
