In preparation for the forthcoming general elections in Peshawar, the police have unveiled a comprehensive security plan aimed at ensuring a smooth and secure electoral process.
According to the official document, a substantial force of 10,019 policemen is slated to be deployed on election day to oversee security operations.
The plan outlines meticulous measures to safeguard polling stations across the city, with particular attention given to stations categorized as normal, sensitive, and most sensitive.
At normal polling stations, a team of four policemen will be stationed to maintain order and security. For sensitive polling stations, this number will increase to five, while the most sensitive stations will see a deployment of seven officers.
In total, a staggering 8,676 policemen will be strategically positioned to safeguard all polling stations, ensuring the safety of voters and the integrity of the electoral process.
The document stresses a proactive approach towards monitoring the activities of miscreants, with a focus on protecting critical installations vital to the electoral infrastructure.
Furthermore, the security plan highlights measures to combat disruptive behaviors such as hateful wall chalking and the distribution of inflammatory pamphlets.
Authorities have pledged to take swift action to curb any such activities that could potentially undermine the peaceful conduct of the elections.
