Following the falling apart of negotiations with the Jamaat-e-Islami, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has shifted its focus towards one of its offshoots for an alliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The PTI's negotiation team has reportedly engaged in talks with Pervez Khattak's party, the PTI-P, for an alliance in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
The negotiations aim to foster collaboration between the two parties, with the initial round of discussions already underway. Malik Habib Orakzai, the PTI-P general secretary, confirmed the commencement of talks and revealed that Asad Qaiser and Ali Amin Gandapur from the PTI have contacted their party. Discussions are ongoing, with further negotiations scheduled in the near future, he added.

Orakzai further said that the primary objective of these talks was to facilitate the induction of PTI's independent candidates into the PTI-P. Malik Habib emphasized the importance of unity within the party and expressed optimism regarding the potential outcomes of the negotiations.
On the other hand, in an important meeting of the PTI core committee, discussions were held regarding potential alliances with various political parties.
One of the major points of contention in the meeting was the proposed alliance with Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) in the Centre. While the matter was deliberated upon extensively, a significant portion of the core committee expressed reservations and opposition towards any association with the MWM.
Instead, deliberations were initiated for forging new alliances in the federation, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Among the parties deliberated for collaboration were Jamaat-e-Islami, Sunni Ittehad Council, and JUI-Shirani group. The PTI leadership has decided to engage in discussions with these parties to explore potential alliances further.
