Israel Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben-Gvir presented a proposal, later approved by the Netanyahu to restrict the entry of all Palestinians at al-Quds during the Ramadan.
Despite warnings from Israel’s internal spy agency; Shin Bet that such decision could cause more dangerous disruption than the eruption of tensions in East Jerusalem Al-Quds.
The Israeli media reported that Ben-Gvir asked Netanyahu's cabinet to allow only people over 70 years old living in the occupied Jerusalem al-Quds and the 1948 territories to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month.
As per the proposed plan, residents of other parts of the occupied West Bank cannot be able to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque — Islam’s third holiest site.
It is pertinent to note that the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, the regime’s forces have restricted Palestinian Muslims' access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly on Fridays.
Defying the Israeli restrictions, approximately 25,000 people were able to enter the mosque to perform Friday prayers for the first time in more than four months.
