Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Atta Tarar said on Sunday that the efforts underway to deliberately make the National Assembly session “controversial”.
Addressing the news conference in Lahore, Tarar said, “There is no logic to delay the NA session.” He fired a fresh broadside at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “The PTI has always tried to harm the country.".
Tarar said: “The masses had denounced the politics based on dual standards. Every now and then, the new uproar has been caused by one prisoner.”
In connection with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Tarar said: “On what basis, do you [the PTI founder] think to write the letter to the international lender. You [PTI founder] are a corrupt person and behind bars.”
He took a dig at President Arif Alvi, saying, “President Alvi, you had plundered money by getting the MoU signed from the Indian-American. You have a property in Karachi’s Clifton. There is a discrepancy in your assets".
“Mr. President, you had run the anti-Palestine narrative. Your son is involved in corruption, and you are not summoning the NA session,” Tarar added.
The PML-N stalwart said: “You will be remembered as that president who harmed the country’s democracy.”
– President Alvi bound by PM’s advice: Sanaullah –
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday that President Dr Arif Alvi was bound by the prime minister’s advice.
Expressing his thoughts, Sanaullah emphasised the constitutional mandate of convening a National Assembly session within 21 days, underscoring the importance of upholding this requirement.
He recalled the recently held general elections, saying, “I was present in my constituency on February 8. I had bagged 113,000 votes. I was elected as the MNA for five years after bagging 106,000 votes".
"If opponents had taken 15,000 more votes than me, then we should not cause the uproar that the conspiracy was hatched against me,” he added.
Sanaullah maintained: “It does mean that I cannot handle the responsibilities within the party after losing the elections.”
