Pakistan Army conducted a rescue and relief operation in Gwadar following heavy rains and flooding on February 27-28, 2024. General Officer Commanding 44 Division, along with the Commissioner Makran Division and Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, visited Gwadar City and Sar Bandar to assess the situation.
The Army and Civil Administration assured the local population of their full cooperation and actively engaged in rescue operations in Gwadar, Jiwani, and Sar Bandar. Villagers trapped in various different regions were safely relocated.

Medical camps were set up in every region, along with two emergency response units in Gwadar. Army engineers worked on dismantling blockages in Jiwani and clearing/restoring roads in Gwadar.
Army pumps were deployed to drain water from flooded areas/houses, and cooked meals along with dry rations were distributed to displaced citizens. Debris clearance and mobile repair teams were provided for stranded citizens.
Tents and bedding were provided to homeless populations, and the local residents appreciated the army's efforts. The water level receded rapidly, expected to return to normal by tomorrow evening.
No casualties were reported. After the water recedes, the army will assist in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of homes and infrastructure.
