In line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's commitment to address outstanding financial issues faced by exporters, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has cleared all pending tax refunds up to March 3, 2024.
This move fulfills a key demand from the export sector and injects a significant amount of liquidity back into the economy.
The total value of the cleared refunds stands at a substantial Rs 65 billion, providing much-needed relief to exporters who have been grappling with cash flow challenges due to delayed refunds.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Sharif, in his inaugural address, specifically highlighted the importance of resolving the pending tax refunds issue. This decisive step towards fulfilling that promise has been met with appreciation from the business community.
